On 12 March 2013, and within the scope of Vocational Training involvement, North LEDA had an active participation in the Annual Planning Workshop for the "Promotion of Vocational Education & Small and Medium Enterprise Development" / DSME.
The objective of the workshop was to discuss the ongoing implementation and the planned activities for 2013.
The DSME program (Dual System, Meister, Small & Medium Enterprises) was initially established and has continued as a joint development initiative between the Republic of Lebanon and the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Dual System is well-known as a successful German approach to Vocational Education. The program, devised by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in 1995, is currently in its penultimate phase. From 2014, the DSME will operate according to the framework constructed through the cooperation.
Partners involved in the cooperation are the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, & Agriculture in Lebanon.
